The first time I met the work of Mario Cravo Neto at MASP was in 1979. I was struck by their images in BP and in color. He somehow led me to refine my look at the picture. Unacceptable departure. Great Mario Cravo Neto, the son of another great artist, the sculptor Mario Cravo.

Mario Cravo Neto. Portrait photographer-signs. Portraits of anonymous people bring different meanings in the images; duality, introspection, religion, time, memory ... .. As Joan Fontcuberta "... no matter what kind of photography we do, the photographic image is to tell stories." And the images because they remain Cravo Neto, every look, reminds us of several stories. Great, great photographer !!!!!!!

  • Roberta Guimaraes said:

People, correct the reference to the phrase "no matter what kind of photography we do, the photographic image is to tell stories." The phrase is from a text by Peter Meyer who is in the book edited by Fontcuberta called "Do Androids Dream of cameras?"

I'm not happy when a good man go! Mario Cravo Neto, was a man, a photographer who left content. He made a beautiful story of your sweet Bahia. I remember I loved listening to Miles Davis and gave us a few good tips. He was not afraid to dare doing a spiritual work. He lived with intense love art. The last time I was 96 vomos International Biennial of Photography in Curitiba, crafted by Azevedo. About the good times were those ... May Allah have it.
