Paraty in Focus 2011

Last year, I had the opportunity to be monitors of press photographers at the workshop for junior boys ITAE (Institute of Art and Education Track), youngsters from the outskirts of the city of Paraty. A learning, I do not know more than them, because for me it was a school, dealing with young people so talented and dedicated to photography. The passion was great and I had to scold them to go home and rest, but most wanted to shoot up to not take any more standing.

The cool thing is to see their point of view changing in the short space of time, just watching lectures and socializing during the day of the event with photography and great photographers. It is in the vein, which enters into the soul! And this is a way to visually literate someone in this age range. And so is literacy for the world and for various things that happen in it ...

This year again I will have the good fortune to participate in this workshop. Some young people have changed. (See pictures taken by the boys last year in the post on my blog, Fotograficaminhamente ). Others will participate again, as Mathews Remedies. Paraty knew soon after 2008 that his father wanted to know which camera to buy, because the son had been interested enough to visually document everything that went ahead. A proud! And one of the most talented of the bunch! Impressive dedication of this boy and his eyes as keen and talented! Ingrid and Savio Rangel Silva will also be back this year. Savio, highly intelligent, first flautist. Ingrid, studious and curious about how to get better angles and the best way we photographed.

They are in an exhibition at Gallery Zoom in Paraty, about the mistreatment of animals. Black-and-white, delicate and tell what they live. Who had the idea to offer this workshop which takes place from the first year of Paraty in Focus was the mastermind of the event, the Italian photographer who grew up and settled in Brazil, Giancarlo Mecarelli and his wife, Maxime Delmotte.

He also created the Zoom Gallery. A space in one of the beautiful old houses, which divides exhibitions of photographers from domestic and international photographers of the junior ITAE.

Excellent last year, they were a standing ovation by the audience in its audio-visual presentation, shown in the auditorium of the House of Culture. Did not show any at all "dears" from the periphery (as some still insist on thinking) and they were not there just for fun or for "gréia." Anyway, I adopted all! Who will participate this year:
