The first section I looked at was created here in the Pictures of the Year . This is the third year. For two reasons, I continue with it: I love to see these pictures "best of the year" and the section was the first that brought the audience to the blog, even in the first three months of life.

To begin the round 2009, two tips that are a mix of images of the year contest:

The Editor & Publisher , a journalism Web site that it brings its tenth Photos of the Year and the interesting thing is that the first prize went to a multimedia work. Spectacular, by the way. It is the story Ian Fisher: American Soldier was made by The Denver Post. A newspaper's staff acompamnhou two years of life of the soldier Fisher: before, during and after going to war. Real journalism, you know? To see all the photos and essays chosen here . To the page of Photos of the Year with all the issues, here .

And the result is the 39th annual National Wildlife Photo Contest . Beautiful Photos of nature to care about.

The PicturaPixel gave Ian Fisher on September 15.
