For the first time in Argentina, Steve McCurry open exhibition in Buenos Aires

For the first time in Argentina, the Centro Cultural Borges in Buenos Aires opens today, (25/02), an exhibition entitled Cultures, with 110 works of American photographer Steve McCurry. Recognized worldwide as one of the best photographers of our time, Steve is the author of the famous photograph of Afghan girl, which was published by National Geographic magazine in June 1985. Sharbat Gula was photographed en when he was 12 June 1984 at Nasir Bagh refugee camp in Pakistan during the war against the Soviet invasion, and because of his expressive face with green eyes, became one of the most famous magazine. McCurry has covered many areas of conflict, including the Iran-Iraq War, the disintegration of Yugoslavia, Beirut, Cambodia, Philippines, the Gulf War, China and Afghanistan. Steve McCurry will be in Brazil between 20 and 22 May 2010, as the guest of a series of lectures and workshops sponsored by the magazine better photographer, in partnership with the organization of SP Photo Fest at the Museum of Image and Sound in Sao Paulo.
